Our Precious Metals

MOI Studios works exclusively with high-quality precious metals: 14 or 18 karat gold, white gold, rose gold, and platinum. Each material has its own unique appeal – in color, character, and how it feels on the skin.

Yellow Gold

Yellow gold stands for timeless elegance. Since pure gold is too soft for durable jewelry, it is alloyed with other metals. MOI Studios uses both 14 karat (58.5% pure gold) and 18 karat (75% pure gold) for its yellow gold pieces.

14 karat yellow gold has a slightly lighter tone, which complements fair skin tones beautifully. Thanks to its higher alloy content, it is especially durable and well-suited for everyday wear.

18 karat yellow gold, with its higher gold content, has a richer color and pairs exceptionally well with warm skin tones – such as golden, olive, or tanned complexions.

Thanks to its resistance to tarnishing, yellow gold is ideal for everyday use and requires very little maintenance.

White Gold

For our white gold pieces, we offer both 14 karat (58.5% pure gold) and 18 karat (75% pure gold), each alloyed with metals that create the cool, silvery-white tone. The jewelry is additionally rhodium-plated to enhance its shine.

14k white gold is slightly harder, making it ideal for everyday wear. White gold pairs especially well with cool skin tones that have rosy or bluish undertones.

With regular wear, the rhodium layer may need occasional refreshing—apart from that, white gold is both durable and elegantly timeless.

Rose Gold

MOI Studios offers rose gold in both 14 karat (58.5% pure gold) and 18 karat (75% pure gold). The warm, rosy hue comes from a higher copper content in the alloy.

While 18k rose gold has a slightly softer, richer color, 14k offers a sturdier structure, making it especially suitable for everyday wear. Rose gold flatters a wide range of skin tones, particularly neutral to warm complexions and pairs beautifully with reddish undertones.

Thanks to the copper content’s high scratch resistance, rose gold is ideal for frequently worn pieces – feminine, modern, and resilient all at once.

Platinum

Platinum is one of the rarest precious metals in the world. Unlike white gold, platinum is naturally white and does not require any plating. It maintains its color and shine over time and is hypoallergenic, making it ideal for sensitive skin.

Platinum looks especially striking on cool skin tones. Fair to very fair skin gains a clean, elegant radiance from its neutral white hue. It is exceptionally durable, heavier than gold, and virtually indestructible, making it the perfect choice for rings and jewelry meant to last a lifetime.
